About Larry Stickney

Larry Stickney is a longtime conservative political activist, writer, and strategist.

Prior to managing the Koster for Congress campaigns of 2010 and 2012, Larry helped launch the Family Policy Institute of Washington and was President of the Washington Values Alliance. Larry was the sponsor of Referendum 71 and founder/manager of the organization & PAC Protect Marriage Washington.

In 2010, Larry was named "Republican of the Year" by the Snohomish County Republican Party.

Larry served for a eight years (1999 - 2007) as a Legislative Aide to Snohomish County Councilman and former State Representative John Koster.

In 2003, Larry drafted Snohomish County Council Resolution 03-026 (passed unanimously) in support of the City of Everett's Monument to the Ten Commandments.

From 1995 - 2000, Larry worked as a staff member for the Washington State House of Representatives for six years, holding down the district offices of conservative State Representatives Steve Hargrove, Mike Sherstad and Koster. In 1999, he took time off from his legislative job to help manage Initiative 694, a measure to ban partial-birth abortion.

Larry was an elected officer of the Kitsap County Republican Party and served on their executive board from 1992 - 1996. He also managed the winning State House campaign for Steve Hargrove in 1994 and was named the "'94 Republican Volunteer of the Year."

Prior to his political endeavors, Larry worked for sixteen years in the construction industry, including 8 years on remote sites in the state of Alaska.
